To Laugh and Smile

Her long, brown hair and soft smile catch my stare.
Walking into rooms and displaying her grace,
if only she can see how much I care.
I’ll be patient and let her set the pace.
To lie, deceive, or hurt, I will not dare;
I just want to make her laugh and smile.
When she is doubted, I’ll defend her case;
if love is what she wants, I’ll always share.
For her, I’ll cross on foot to the Nile.
Wherever she goes, I’ll always give chase;
if she is tired, I will be her chair.
I just want to make her laugh and smile.
But our love for God will be our love’s base.
My one wish is for us to be a pair,
for her, I’ll cross on foot to the Nile.
She will always put a smile on my face.
When around her, I have no need to glare.
I just want to make her laugh and smile;
for her, I’ll cross on foot to the Nile.
